The Paraiso Verde belongs to the arum family (Araceae) and is also known by the name "Marina Ruy Barbosa. It is believed that the plant originally came from a Brazilian collection. From there, this plant has captured the hearts of many plant lovers. This is not surprising when you look at what beautiful shapes and patterns are repeatedly found in the leaves.
Characteristics
Paraiso Verde means "Green Paradise" in Spanish. So that is what the plant looks like with its beautiful patterns and variety of green spots, making it very popular. However, this plant is currently still quite unique and rare. An even rarer version is the albo variety of this, which gets white spots in the leaves in addition to light green spots.
In autumn this plant turns completely green, because the condition of the variegata is a lot of indirect natural sunlight. It is very difficult to maintain the variegata during this period in countries with short days in winter. In spring, the variegata will return to the leaves when there is enough indirect light. The pattern in the leaves is unpredictable and always unique.
The plant matures relatively quickly and can grow incredibly large in the right conditions. It can be easily pruned and guided, making it easy to keep the plant in check.
